Rotary 4‑Way Test Speech Contest – Empowering Ethical Leadership in Youth
Each year, outstanding students from Chagrin Falls High School and Kenston High School present to our club as part of Rotary International’s 4‑Way Test Speech Contest, demonstrating how ethical decision‑making shapes responsible leadership.
Students are invited to select a contemporary ethical issue they feel strongly about and apply the principles of the Rotary 4‑Way Test to their chosen topic:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Participants are encouraged to draw from personal experience or general knowledge, adopt a clear point of view, and craft a persuasive message that reflects thoughtful analysis and moral courage. Their presentations highlight the importance of integrity, empathy, and responsible citizenship—values at the heart of Rotary.
Students who excel at the club level advance to the District 6630 4‑Way Test Speech Contest, where they represent the Rotary Club of Chagrin Valley and continue their journey as emerging leaders committed to service and ethical action.
